Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American actor Finn, who appeared in beloved TV shows such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a message.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
