Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with committing sexual assaults against 38 victims who were patients.

The Serious Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
