The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed game that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing chaos and madness with equal glee, all while telling gripping, ideologically themed tales. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two creators whose projects have embodied all of those elements.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' structure by having a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their steady belief and backing.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an standalone program. Each game is a variation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from year to year, while always exploring the nature of people through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
